Custom Watercolor Pet Portraits

These pet portraits are painted on high-quality watercolor paper and shipped up to 1 inch larger in length and width, to allow for extra room when framing.

Step 1: Photos
Please email as many high-quality photos as you would like to kartidiafineart@gmail.com. Please let us know which photo you would like for us to primarily work from. Please include at least one well-lit, non-blurry photo of your pet; clearer and more detailed photos give more realistic painting results. Please only send photos to which only you have full image rights. We are not liable for any copyright issues that may arise from the images submitted by the client.

Step 2: Initial sketches
We'll create up to 3 designs based on the images sent to kartidiafineart@gmail.com, and you can choose which one is your favorite. Please inform us of any changes or additions you would like to the piece before we begin the painting. 

Step 3: Painting Stage
During the painting process, I can send photo updates of your piece if you wish. Before the painting is mailed to you, you will receive an email with a photo of the finished piece.

Turnaround time: up to 1 month.

So many options, and so many sizes! Although there are many ways to achieve a striking, cohesive room design, there are a few general rules to follow:

-Wall art should take up anywhere between 60%-75% of available wall space.

-Wall art hung above furniture, moldings, fireplaces, etc. should have a 6-12 inch gap between the art and the furniture.

-Wall art above furniture should be 2/3-3/4 of the furniture's width.

But most importantly, have fun with the design, and don't be afraid to experiment with different styles - the possibilities are endless!

Framing: When framing a watercolor painting, consider where you are placing the piece. If avoiding direct sunlight is not an option, consider framing behind UV-filtering acrylic instead of glass to preserve the art. Custom sizes may require a custom frame. Our watercolor pet portraits are mailed to you on paper slightly larger in size than you indicated, in order to allow for extra room on the sides of the piece when framing. Make sure to include sturdy backing such as cardboard, foam, or wood to hold the art in the frame. You may also consider including acid-free mat paper to better frame and position the artwork. Make sure no fingerprints get on the side of the glass or acrylic panel on the inside of the frame, to avoid natural oils from staining the painting.
